Apprentice Instructors

Attention Experienced Montessori Teachers. 

If you have considered expanding your professional life by becoming a teacher educator, consider applying to be an apprentice instructor.

 The best way to continue developing your own skills and knowledge is to teach others. We are accepting applications from individuals who are interested in becoming apprentice instructors in our teacher education program.    The necessary qualifications are listed below. Your apprenticeship would consist of a year or more spent shadowing experienced instructors, assisting with set up and clean up of environments and activities for classes, overseeing practice times, assessing written and practical work, presenting to students and eventually taking over full responsibility for a course component.
 
The following are requirements for all candidates who wish to apply:
·         MACTE-approved or AMI Montessori credential
·         Bachelor’s Degree minimum; Master’s Degree preferred
·         Four or more years of Montessori classroom teaching experience.
·         Experience teaching adults
·         Commitment to Montessori education and philosophy.
·         Record of continuous professional and personal development.

·         Current resume
·         Copy of Montessori credential(s)
·         Copy of degrees or college transcript
·         Portfolio showing photos of 3-5 original materials or lessons you designed for a Montessori classroom, one or two year-long classroom plans, and, at the elementary level, two weekly lesson plans.
·         One to two page statement regarding your educational philosophy and reason for interest in teacher preparation.  It is helpful to include information about course areas in which you have particular strength and interest.
