Eton is an independent school for children age three through grade eight whose mission in educating the whole child inspires creative, confident thinkers who have an enduring passion for learning and are poised to contribute to the world. In support of our mission and statement on diversity, we seek qualified Clubhouse Staff to work within our childcare program, “Clubhouse”.

Clubhouse Staff are scheduled to work Monday-Friday, 11:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m., as 10-month employees during the academic calendar. Work schedule and hours will vary while supporting the childcare program during certain school closures and breaks, including optional work during our Summer Program. The primary responsibilities of this position include supervising students in childcare, supporting the Clubhouse Supervisor, and preparing/maintaining the environment. The wage range for this position is $23.00-$25.00 per hour.

examples of Daily tasks include:

  • Support classrooms through lunch break, rest break, and absence coverage.

  • Implement the set schedule for snacks, activities, and free play established by the Clubhouse Supervisor.

  • Supervise students while playing indoors and outside at recess, ensuring the physical and emotional safety of students.

  • Manage student behavior using positive discipline and maintain consistent expectations.

  • Clean and organize the materials and spaces used during childcare.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 18 years of age

  • Minimum 2 years of experience working with children

  • High School Diploma or GED required

  • Degrees or credentials related to education preferred

  • Desirable traits include a warm disposition, confidence, and kindness when working with children, effective communication, professionalism, and taking initiative in handling work responsibilities.

Requirements 

Trainings, which can be completed upon hire, costs reimbursed by the school:

  • Pediatric and Adult CPR/AED and First Aid training

  • Bloodborne Pathogens training

  • Mandatory Reporting of Child Abuse and Neglect

  • Medication Management

  • Student Boundary Training

  • Food Workers Card

30 STARS hours of Child Care Basics course and meeting annual professional development.

Provide results of a one-step Mantoux TB skin test prior to starting work or provide written proof of a negative test result within the past twelve months. Positive results require documentation of treatment or a negative chest X-ray.

Proof of MMR vaccination, proof of immunity through antibody titer, a health care provider's attestation of infection sufficient to provide immunity, or documentation of medical/religious exemption.

Completed a Portable Background Check through DCYF and submission to fingerprinting as required.

Ability to lift 30 lbs. overhead, standing or walking for extended periods, and moving freely while supervising and engaging in indoor and outdoor activities with students.

Employees are eligible to participate in the 401(k) retirement plan following one year and a minimum of 1,000 hours of work; for each dollar an employee contributes, Eton School will provide a matching contribution of up to 8% of an employee's eligible compensation.
